basic difference between slab and prism is that glass slab is a concept when two refracting surfaces are parallel to each other whereas prism is a concept when light falls on two inclined surfaces.
now if you calculate angle of deviation of prism it can never be zero as the angle between refracting surfaces is never zero. if you ever plot a graph of angle of deviation vs incidence angle it is of the shape as attachment image. it is not a parabola remember that. once jee asked a classic question on this graph.
