paper bags are bio degradable i.e. the get easily decomposed in the soil.
on the other hand plastic bags are non bio degradable i.e. they don't get degraded in the soil. they cause harm to the environment as when animals search for food in garbage they sometiomes eat plastics that choke them and they may also die.
paper bags can also be recycled
