Explain why it is easier to climb a mountain on a zigzag path rather than one straight up the side. Is your increase in gravitational potential energy the same in both cases? Is your energy consumption the same in both?

Answer:

explanation down

Explanation:

in a zig zag path the vertical inclination is less and thus it becomes easier to climb . it is either u climb in a steep hill or else you reduce the steepness and increase the distance by climbing in a zig zag pattern , and also because of this in both cases the energy is consumed same.

Answer:

It is easier to climb a mountain in a zigzag pattern because then you are travelling on a longer path (inclined path) less force needed to apply for moving up. When climb straight up, this is the shortest distance but the gravitational pull is more for each step. But for longer distance for each step the gravitational pull is less. Therefore, it is easier to climb a mountain in a zigzag pattern.

Explanation:

  • Zigzag path is easier to climb the mountain because work is doing along a longer path and gravitational pull for each step is less for longer distance so, it requires less force at any instant. similarly when we climb on straight path, the distance is shortest gravitational pull is more so,  it's difficult to climb.
