We can push a lighter box easily than a heavy box on the same floor because of friction. The heavier the object, the more friction is applied, thus making it difficult to push a heavier box. People experience more frictional force when pushing a heavy box and less frictional force when pushing a lighter box on the same type of floor. Hope this helps!

"The pushing of heavier box on the same floor as the lighter box is being pushed is not easier as it requires more force to push the heavier box.
According to Newton's second law of motion which has the mathematical derivation of Force as being derived F = ma where m is the mass of the body which comes into an acceleration produced by the amount of Force applied.
Thereby, the lighter box will require less force to be moved as compared to heavier box as the force is directly proportional to mass.
Another reason is the force of friction of the floor which is being experienced over the box of varied masses created by varied Normal reaction and hence, the force of friction be more on heavier box making it difficult to be pushed."
