Ether and acetone are highly volatile liquids .i.e. they vaporise easily at room temp. also... so if they are not kept at room temp. or at warm places, they will vaporise.. in order to suppress their vaporisation, they are kept at cool plces.

Why liquids of ether and acetone are kept in cool places ?

The liquids of ether and acetone are highly volatile in nature .

This means that they will change their state to gaseous if the temperature is not low enough .

They have low boiling points and that is why they should be kept in cool places so that they do not change their state .

The liquids have a low ignition temperature and are easily flammable.

The liquids have a low ignition temperature . This means that if the liquids are not kept in very low temperatures it is likely that they will catch fire .

Thus they need to kept in a temperature lower than the ignition temperature .

Hence they are kept in cold places.
