Magnetic Field Lines cannot ever intersect because of the following reason :

  • Magnetic Field Lines represents the direction of vector of magnetic field intensity.

  • If we consider intersection of Field Lines , two tangents can be drawn at the point of intersection.

  • Each of the tangents shall denote a specific direction of the vector.

  • This would mean that a single Magnetic field line represents two directions at the same time , which is not possible.

Hence Magnetic Field Lines cannot Intersect.

  • Magnetic field lined do not intersect each other because if there would be intersection between the magnetic fields then there would be two tangents which would represent two different distances.
  • But it is not possible practically to denote to two directions at the same time.
  • The magnetic fields would also come very close which is not possible.
