Explain why magnetic force is said to be a non-contact force?

There is magnetic force that exists between two opposite magnetic poles that can actually bring them together even when the poles are far apart, it is easy to say that it is a non-contact force.

A non-contact force is a force which acts on an object without coming physically in contact with it.The most familiar example of a non-contact force is gravity, which confers weight. In contrast a contact forceis a force applied to a body by another body that is in contact with it
