Like dissolves like phenomena
Water is polar molecukes and ionic compounds alsobhave poles
So negative pole of water will attract positive ion and positive pole of water will attract negative ion
Thats why ionic compounds are soluble in water

when we hydrolysis water it H +and OH minus ions.
the other hand when the ionic compounds are dissolved in water there minus ion is attract by H + ion And positive ion is attract by OH minus ion. because of that most of the ionic compounds are soluble in water.
