explain . why most of the metals do not displace hydrogen from nitric acid​

nitric acid acts as a strong oxidising agent and hence it reduces the hydrogen.

HNO3 is a strong oxidizing agent.

If any metal react with it than it displaces H2 and form water. But Mg and Mn react with HNO3 to form metallic hydroxide and form H2
