Explain why only turgid leaf is selected for the preparetion of teporary mount of a leaf peel

For making a temporary mount of a leaf peel turgid leaves are used because, in a turgid leaf, the cells in a turgid leaf swell up and thus can be stained and visualized easily under a microscope. It also helps to reveal the shape and structure of the cells.
