Explain why oxygen exists as a gas whereas sulphur exists as a solid

Answer:

at room temperature kinetic energy in particles of oxygen is higher than that of sulphur.this makes the oxygen atoms move faster and go away from each other and form gaseous state and sulphur's particles are nearer hence it forms solid

these are at room temperature
