The particles of colloidal solutions are smaller and not heavy whereas the particles of suspension is heavier,larger and have less movement .

That's why due to gravity particles of suspension sette down and particle of colloidal solution do not settle down.

Also molecular interactions in a suspension are not strong enough to keep the particles suspended and thus theysettle down, when left undisturbed.
