Explain why plants growing in dessert take up carbon dioxide at night and utilize it during the day in synthesis of carbohydrates.

In deserts the climate is very hot and amount of rainfall is very low. If the plants will take Co2 during day, lots of water will be loss, so to prevent loss of water they take co2 during night.

hey mate here is your answer:-

generally the desert plants are taking co2 at night time because if they take it during day time and do respiration during day time then the transportation would be more and as in desert areas there poses the insufficient of water so it take co2 during day time which are synthesized to mallic acid are used during day time to carry out photosynthesis.
