Explain why plants have low energy needs as compared to animal

Plant does not do as much function as animals do.They are fixed at a particular place but animals move.Therefore animals need more energy as compared to plants.

This is because after Animals cannot make their own food so they must eat plants and/or other animals. They are called consumers. There are three groups of consumers. Animals that eat only plants are called herbivores (or primary consumers). Animals that eat other animals are called carnivores...and plants are called the producers...hence it have less energy..
