Explain why potassium peroxide is thermally much less stable than Caesium peroxide.

Generally oxide are more stable than peroxide. But for some elements their peroxide are more stable than oxide. It is especially for larger cations ( alkali and alkaline earth metals such as Mg ,Na ,K ) because of FAJANS RULE . it is because of FAJANS RULE that superoxide are most stable for some elements compared to oxide and peroxide ( Rb ).
