Rusting of iron objects is faster in coastal areas than deserts because there is more moisture in the air in coastal areas .. so it reacts with iron objects and rust is formed. As the content of moisture is high in coastal areas than deserts rust is formed faster. rust can be prevented by galvanisation painting , oiling , electroplating
