Explain why same leaves may get dtached the tree

Some leaves may get detached from the tree use to inertia of motion. Due to the vigorous shaking of the trees during wind or rain the leaves due to inertia of motion get detached.

This is due to inertia of rest.

The tree is initially at rest.But when we shake the tree, the leaves continue to be at rest which results in falling down of leaves.
