explain why school bags have wide straps

they have wide straps to reduce the pressure on our shoulders.

pressure is inversely proportional to the area of contact so if the bag straps are not wide and are thin then they will exert more pressure, so to reduce pressure the area of contact has to be increased by increasing the width of straps
