sedimentary rocks are those rocks built by layers of deposition of debris,biological matter over period of time.

so it is clearly seen that all the biological evidences which died years ago ( e.g. dinosaurs) have been buried under earth have transformed into sedimentary rocks over period of time.

so naturally fossils are found in sedimentary rocks.
