Sliding friction is also known as kinetic friction....a body lying on a frictional floor requires decent amount of force to set into motion...so static friction acts when the body is tend to move..and kinetic friction acts when body is moving...so kinetic friction is less as compared to static friction...

➡➡Area which comes in contact is more when an object is at rest than when it slides over a surface'frictional force' is due to the presence of interlocking present on the surface of contact i.e. up and downs on the floor, sliding means draging an object along a floor static means object is at rest, so sliding friction is slightly less than static friction⬅⬅✔✔
