sodium hydrogen carbonate also known as baking soda is the basic salt. our stomach have sometimes large accumulation of acid which causes pain and irritation.baking soda being a basic in nature neutrilise the excess acid present in our stomach and makes us relief.that"s why baking soda is often use as a antacid that is anti acid or base to nulify the acid
