this because sodium is lower than it in the group the element gets more electro-positive and also the element gains an extra shell so that would make it easier for the element to lose an electron and gain octet configuration . so that's why.

atomic radius of sodium is greater than lithim,which allows sodium to loose electron easily than lithium.
electropositivity and mettalic character increases as we move along the group or top to bottom .this is the reason why sodium is more reactive than lithium .
