Soil is a living system because it comprises of living organisms such as plants and animals.
In addition it also consists of fungi, protozoa, bacteria and other microorganisms.
Presence of organic substances indicates the robustness of the soil. Generally five factors determine the quality. Some of them include climate, organisms, landscape, position, parent material and time.
