explain why solid has rigidity but liquid do not have rigidity

solid have high rigidity then liquid because in the solid the molecule and ions are closed compactly arranged and and greatly vibrates when we heat due to intramolecular hydrogen bonding but in liquid the molecule are at far distance so the rigidity is not high.....
