Explanation:
The molecules of the solid are tightly packed . Because of that the molecules could not move and that is why it becomes rigid and has a fixed shape.
Whereas , the molecules present in liquids and gases have a more interparticular space and the molecules present in it move more freely than solids . That is why the liquids and gases do not have a fixed shape .
