Explain why sportsmen use shoes with spikes?

when sportsmen run on a track or grass field , they push the ground very hard backwards , so that they get push forward.  This is according to Newtons third law.  

While pushing the ground , if the shoes are flat with out spikes, the grip may not be sufficient to hold them.  That is the coefficient of friction between the flat bottom of shoe  and ground is not enough to give sufficient force in the forward direction...  So to increase friction, they wear shoes with spikes.

sportsmen use shoes with Spikes because we should give them a better grip while running this is because of force of friction between the shoes and the ground increase with the help of spikes
