The north-eastern part of India meets the ideal conditions for tea growth. With temperature ranging between 10 degrees and 30 degrees centigrade through the year and rainfall between 300 – 400 centimetres, the states of Assam and West Bengal lead in Tea cultivation.

The ideal conditions for cultivation of coffee is found in some south-eastern states of India, such as Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Temperature between 23 degrees to 28 degrees centigrade and rainfall of 60 – 80 inches, followed by 2 – 3 months of dry weather, make these states ideal for coffee cultivation.

Tea grows immensely well in the sub-tropical and tropical region due to fertility.

In addition to this, it requires moist, warm and frost-free weather that can easily be found in North-eastern place.

Whereas coffee grows best in a tropical climate with the average temperature of 15-28 degree C and even soil must be well-drained which fits the South-western place.
