tearing paper is a a physical change because teared paper can be easily recovered but if the paper is going then all compounds contain in it get converted into carbon dioxide and carbon monoxide and carbon and these compounds cannot be easily converted into paper once again

Answer:

For understanding this you will have to understand the concept of what is physical and chemical change

Physical change means a change in which no new substance is formed and when we tear paper no new substance is formed so it is a physical change

Chemical change new substance with entirely different properties are formed so when we burn paper ash is formed which has entirely different property than paper

Hope it helps I wrote in a very simple language definition. Just to explain you
