Explain why temperature decreases with increasing height above sea level
Answers
The temperature will decrease with the increase in height because:
• The atmospheric pressure will fall that will directly decrease the temperature.
• The concentration of the greenhouse gases will decrease which will decrease the temperature.
Carbon dioxide and water vapour will increase sharply as we will move upward which will result in the decrement of the capacity of heat absorption.
❗❗In the lower parts of the atmosphere the troposphere - there is a fair amount of upward and downward motion of the air. Some of it is due to warmer air running into colder air to adiabatic expansion. In the stratosphere solar energy absorbed by ozen warms the air and the temperature goes up with altitude. It'a not because you are closer to tge sun though ❗❗
