Explain why the electric potential in the interior of a charged conductor is not zero

This is because inside conductor, Electric field is 0 so no work is done in moving a charge inside so electric potential is not zero but is equal to that of surface.

(Electric potential is defined as work done in moving a charge from infinity to that point against the electrostatic force by an agent.)
