As the population increases, the requirement of water also increases. And water is also being polluted which decreases the amount of fresh water.

Due to land shortage. Because as the population increases the requirement of house/space/land/land for farming increases. So people have to migrate to other cities in search of good place for their house. Mumbai is an over populated city.
