Answer:

(1)  charring of  sugar is a chemical changes.

(2) burning of charcoad ia a chemical changes.

Explanation:

(1) When sugar is continuously heated in a dish, then it starts evaporating and becomes foggy due to water vapour. A black powdery  substance is left behind, which is charcoal. This process is called charring of sugar. It is a chemical change as it cannot be  reversed.

(2) Burning is one kind of chemical reaction. When charcoal burns, for example, carbon reacts with oxygen to produce carbon dioxide. Carbon and oxygen are reactants, the starting substances in a chemical reaction. Carbon dioxide is a product of the reaction.

Answer:

1. Burning anything is a chemical change because burning is usually defined as the rapid combination of a substance with oxygen. In the process, new substances are formed and the old ones destroyed meaning chemical bonds were broken and made. That’s the very definition of a chemical change.  In the case of sugar, complete combustion would yield just carbon dioxide and water.
