Explain why the glow of two filament bulbs each of rating 100W-250V is reduced, when both of them are connected in series across 250V voltage.

P = V^2/R. R = 250^2/100 = 625 Ohms.

P = V^2/R. R = 250^2/150 = 416.67 Ohms

R total = R1 + R2 = 1041.67 Ohms

P = V^2/R = 250^2 / 1041.67 = 60 Watts.
