Acceleration is change in velocity over time, not change in speed. An object can change direction without changing speed. ... That means it has both direction and a magnitude. In a uniform circular motion the magnitude of the velocity is constant but the direction keeps changing.

motion of body with constant speed in circular motion is said to be on acceleration because acceleration is a vector quantity which depends on both measure and direction. In case of circular motion body continuously use to change its direction and hence it is said to be in acceleration.
