In interphase nucleus we see chromatin not chromosome.During s-phase chromatin duplicate its DNA and forms another chromatin which is its copy.it is attached at a point called centromere but now the number of chromatin is considered same as 46 because a single chromatin has 2 sister chromatids but it considers as single chromatin
