planets actually do twinkle. In fact, everything outside our atmosphere, anything we're looking at outside your atmosphere does twinkle due to the effect that we discussed. However, we can't notice the twinkling effect of the planets because planets appear bigger in size to us.

When we look at a star, the light coming from it passes through different densities of the air and so its position seems to us a little deviated,..and the star appears to be twinkling but in case of planets, this is not so. Planets are larger than the stars and are more away from earth...so they don't appear to twinkle..
