Though stars appear to twinkle at night, planets do not. The planets appear to be bigger in size because of their distance. The dimming effect produced by the point sources of light in some part of the planet is nullified by the brighter effect produced by the point sources of light on some other part Thus, on the whole the brightness of the planet always remains the same. The continuously changing atmosphere is unable to cause variations in the light coming from a big sized planet by refraction, and hence, the planet does not twinkle...
