The reactance offered by an inductor increases with increase in frequency because of the Lenz's law. According to Lenz law, the inductor opposes the change in current by developing a back e.m.f. This in turn increases the reactance offered.
Hence the reactance is directly related to the frequency and is given by, X = ωL.
