Explanation:

In physics, units in which physical quantities are measured depend on their physical dimensions. Every physical quantity can be written on the basis of the seven fundamental physical quantities, though most of them which are commonly used only require the three dimensions ie. length [L], mass [M] and time [T]. Now,

velocity (v) = displacement (s)/ time (t) …(i) DIM: [LT−1]

acceleration (a) = velocity (v)/time(t) …(ii) DIM: [LT−2]

Force (f) = Mass (m) * acceleration (a) …(iii) DIM: [MLT−2]

Work (W) = Force (f) * displacement(s) …(iv) DIM: [ML2T−2]

Hence work has the dimension [ML2T−2]..(v)

Similarly,

Energy (E) = Mass (m) * acceleration due to gravity (g) * height (h)

Energy (E) = [M∗LT−2∗L]

Energy (E) = [ML2T−2]...(vi)

From equations (v) and (vi), we note that both energy and work have the same physical dimensions, so they must have the same units. Thus, the unit joule is used to represent the dimension [ML2T−2].

Answer:

Joule

Explanation:

because work is simply one form of energy , in particular mechanical energy, the movement of an object through a force field
