Explain why the sky appear blue during day time

Light from the sun is basically white light but when passed through a prism, splits up to it's seven components. The Blue light has a short wavelength while red has a longer wavelength. So when the sun is near the horizon, the light from the sun takes time to reach us. So right after sun rise the, most of the red light is absorbed while blue is reflected back up. This is actually why we see the sky blue during the day.. It's actually our eyes doing the trick..
