Explain why the speed of sound is faster in solids than in gases. Include two other factors Chapter 17 says the speed of sound can depend on.

The Speed of Sound is faster in solid than of air because .

In SOLID medium the molecules  are very close to each other so it takes less time to pass from one molecule to another.

But in GAS medium the molecules are far from each other that's why the sound travels a little slower in GAS than in SOLID.
