Explain why the two given electron configurations are not possible

a.) 1s^{2} 2s^{2} 2p^{7}
b.) 1s^{2} 2s^{2} 2p^{6} 3s^{2} 3p^{6} 4s^{1} 3d^{1}

a) Because in p shell, maximum number off elections can be 6 but here it is 7 which is not possible (2p^7).

b)Because in s shell, maximum number of electrons can be 2 but here it is only 1 which is not possible (4s^1).
