Explain why these physical events:
a) A potato in summer on the table remains edible for up to 5 days. If we keep it in the fridge it
lasts two weeks. Why?
b) I want to solve an effervescent pill. In a cold water glass it takes 5 minutes. Nevertheless,
warming up the water to 50ºC it takes half a minute. Why?
c) Packed milk must be consumed in a certain time because it gets rotten. When you keep it cool
at 4° C, its rotting rate decreases to several days. If we keep it cool at 0ºC we can double the
time it takes to get rotten. Why?
d) Water formation from dioxygen and dihydrogen is too slow at room temperature; nonetheless,
it an be very fast (even explosive) at higher temperatures Why?
