Explain why we cannot make pot , toys and statues with sand and can make these with clay

as sand has loose particles and once anything is made it will become loose and will lose its shape.sand is also has a high level of porosity and this leads to drainage of water(due to big particles of sand). on the other hand clay does not let water escape easily (low porosity due to fine particles of clay) once it dries and also the objests does not loose shape after they are made
