Windward Slopes Give Air (and Precipitation) a Boost

When a parcel of warm air travels from a low valley region to the foothills of a mountain range, it is forced to rise along the slope of the mountain (the windward side) as it encounters higher terrain.

The Slope of mountain where the wind strikes is called as the windward slope.

Thia windward slope helps the areas near that mountain because this windward side stops the rain showers to escape and allow them to caise the rain on the windward side....!

There are two sides of a mountain,

  1. Windwars side
  2. Leeward side (vice versa)
