Explain with a diagram how you can locate pole star with the
help of the constellation Great Bear (Ursa Major).

Locate the Ursa Major and locate the quadrilateral in it.
Select the two stars on the far side of the quadrilateral.
Join these stars with a line and extend this imaginary line towards the top of the ladle.
A faint star which meets this line is the pole star.

look towards the northern part of the sky and identify Ursa major you may get help from elders in your family. look the two stars at the end of Ursa major. imagine a straight line passing through these stars extend this imaginary line towards the north direction. this line will lead to a star which is not too bright this is the pole star
