there are 46 chromosome or 23 pairs of chromosome in a person in which 1 pair is sex chromosomes by which we determine that the baby is male or female.
if that one chromosome is XX then it's a female baby and if that one is XY then it's a male baby.

if the sperm carry x chromosome and the zygote has also a x chromosome than a girl child will be there if the chromosome carries y chromosome and the zygote has a x chromosome than a boy child will be there
