Days and night are almost same in Kanyakumari because Kanyakumari is situated near the equator. Day and night are hardly felt in or near the equator but the difference in the duration will be understood by us when we go far from equator.

The day and night are almost of equal duration at the equator. As Kanyakumari is very near to the equator at 8°4'N the day-night difference is hardly one hour there, and therefore, the duration of day and night is hardly felt at Kanyakumari.
