1) Mining sites are abandoned after excavation work is completed leaving deep scars and traces of over burdening.
2) The Mineral processing like grinding of limestone for cement industry and calcite and soapstone for ceramic industry generate large quantity of dust in the atmosphere.
3) In the states of Punjab and haryana over irrigation is responsible for degradation due to water logging leading to increase in salinity and alkalinity in the soil.
4) In states like Madhya Pradesh and Orissa deforestation due to mining have caused severe land degradation.

Land is a precious natural resource for us.We are heavily dependent on this natural resource.

But due to some human works ,this precious resource is constantly degrading.

Over mining and over irrigation are major reasons behind the land degradation.

Because,both of these procedures are related with the artificial transformation of the landforms which is not good when performed in an extreme level.

That's why over mining and over irrigation is directly related to the land degradation.
