Answer:

Inequalities exist in India on the basis of following -

1) Inequality based on caste system - This is the major reason for inequality and discrimination in India. People belonging from lower caste are being ill treated by upper caste since centuries. The mindset of the people is not fully changed to end the caste system.

2) Gender inequality-The socially defined roles and responsibilities for males and females leads to the gender stereotypes. It result in boys and girls being told what is the suitable behavior for their gender at a very young age. Therefore, people were found focusing more on educating boys for turning them into professionals like engineers and pilots. This, in turn, adversely affected women’s right to equality.

3) Political inequality- The person possesses power or political influence tends to be treated important and common man faces discrimination.

4) Social inequality- People from different communities, societies or group of people belonging to particular place are not accepted by the other societies easily.

5) Inequality based on Economic status- The gap between the rich and poor is increasing day by day. The privileges received by rich and all knows the problems faced by poorer section of the society.  Despite realizing that equality is the basic right of all human beings, discrimination on the basis of caste, class or religion still prevails.
